Claygate
Claygate and its neighbouring villages of Esher and Hinchley Wood are exceptionally convenient areas to live in, benefiting from superb railway connections to London Waterloo and Guildford (Waterloo from 25 mins) and benefiting from an easy bus connection to Kingston and Surbiton. Ideally situated within three/four miles of junctions 9 & 10 of the M25, the A3, the major trunk route into London, is only two miles away. London Heathrow at just 20 miles away and Gatwick at 27 miles are both within easy reach.
Claygate has its own charming shopping parade which offers a fine array of mainly independent shops including bakers, butchers, fishmongers, a delicatessen, a fruit and vegetable store and many more. It also includes the Co-op supermarket and Barclays Bank. Claygate boasts a surprising variety of restaurants including Sardinian, Indian, Greek, Chinese, and of course the good old Fish ‘n Chips.
To sum up, Claygate is situated in a glorious part of West Surrey, close to the open countryside of Prince’s Coverts and Esher Common and yet within easy driving distance of London. There is a wide variety of state and fee paying schools.
Sports and recreational facilities are excellent; there are numerous golf courses in the area, health and fitness clubs, tennis clubs, etc.
